The HS Gas Select 6 is a high quality, solid cast iron, gas-fired stove, which won the Freestanding Gas Stove and Appliance of the Year Awards at the 2002 Hearth & Home exhibition.
With a glowing red heart to the fire and moving yellow flames, the Select 6 offers a realistic alternative to a coal fire. No messy burning of real coal or wood, or the cleaning out afterwards, just real flames only a switch away! Choose from either a realistic coal fuel bed or random log effect. In fact even after installation, you may wish to change your chosen fuel bed. Whilst the stove remains in situ, you can change from coal to wood or vice versa should you desire.
For added convenience, there is a hand-held fully remote control on the Select 6. No need to even leave your armchair, the handset can switch the stove on and off* (Pilot flame must be left alight) and adjust the flame picture to your liking.
Should the need arise a manual over-ride ensures continued operation of the stove.
For that extra peace of mind, the Select 6 features an oxy pilot to safely monitor the oxygen level in the room; should this fall below an acceptable level the stove turns itself off. Likewise with the flame failure device, this safely cuts off the gas supply should the flame be extinguished. The appearance of the Select 6 can be transformed depending on the style of the door chosen.
With a choice of plain door, Gothic arch or Gothic cross (all have optional brass door knobs) this styling can reflect or dictate the styling of the whole room. The Select 6 is one of only a few gas stoves on the market that can operate with the doors open, with nothing to obstruct the view of the fire, this stove looks even more realistic.
The Select 6 is suitable for installation to a standard solid fuel Class 1 flue and all more modern Class 2 flue types. Depending on the situation, the Select 6 may be either rear flued or flued from the top of the stove. With easily adjustable legs, the Select 6 stove can comfortably sit on an uneven hearth.
As well as having variable leg lengths the Selene is also available in either dark green or metallic blue finishes.
